Playlists
A good playlist is my love language. Here are my favorites:
π΅ Cover Songs that Donβt Suck Self-explanatory.
π΅ Debbie Debbie This one was like a personal game: assemble only the coolest songs with a name in the title, avoiding all the obvious choices. It results in an eclectic playlist that spans many genres of love songs, stories and icons, and is lowkey one of my favorite playlists on shuffle.
π΅ I Am Trying to Break Your Horns Every song in this playlist is doing something wonderful with a horn section.
π΅ She/Her/Hers This is a huge playlist overflowing with women vocalists and players, spanning (mostly) indie music across genres. Includes niche icons from myriad genres of music over the last 60+ years.
π΅ Music for the Children This high-energy playlist spans genres, decades, and styles, yet maintains a friendly, danceable vibe for the whole family. I curated this one over time with my own kids, after my oldest took a keen interest in the family record player as a toddler.
π΅ Sanguine Summer A dreamy, sultry, psychedelic, global, experimental, mellow rock and bossa nova list for hammocks, dinners and drinks.
π΅ Make You Feel That Way What I’m feeling in R&B and hip hop: mellow beats, clever wordplay, confidence big enough to borrow from.
π΅ Punk Rock, New Wave, Black Eyeliner A hipster punk in my salad days, this is the canon in regular rotation.
